Benjamín joined OVB in 2016 and became a partner in 2020. His practice has centered on civil and commercial litigation, arbitration and the representation of national and foreign clients before the Superior Courts of Justice.


He has handled cases involving the electricity industry, the real estate sector and insurance and reinsurance disputes. More recently, he has intervened in disputes involving environmental considerations and indigenous legislation.

  • An oil company, in opposition to a request for exequatur of an international arbitration award, brought before the Supreme Court, for USD $120 million.
  • An oil company in ICC arbitration, for breaches of an M&A operation for the acquisition of the operation of a gas station chain in Chile, for USD $15 million.
  • An electricity generation company in a CAM Santiago arbitration against a mining company, for breach of a PPA contract, for USD $42 million.
  • One of the main national supermarket chains in an ad hoc arbitration, for breaches of an M&A operation for the acquisition of the operation of a supermarket chain, for USD $2 million.
  • The main chain of national shopping centers, before the Supreme Court en banc, obtaining the annulment of an illegitimate auction held with respect to a shopping center that it owned, valued at approximately USD $40 million.
  • A construction company against a state health service, for the illegalities incurred in the bidding procedure for the construction of a hospital, seeking compensation of approximately USD $6.5 million.
  • A construction company in six arbitrations against a real estate group, for breaches of apartment building construction contracts, for USD $41 million.
  • A mining company in a CAM Santiago arbitration against an electric company, for the application of a green tax, for USD $15 million.
  • Two insurance companies in ad hoc arbitration, seeking compensation for damages caused by a fire in a shopping center that they had co-insured, for USD $40 million.
  • An insurance company, seeking compensation for the damages caused by the overflow of the Mapocho River in the city of Santiago, for USD $14 million.
  • A major forestry company, in lawsuits brought by indigenous people for the claim of approximately 1,500 hectares of land.
  • A mining company before the Supreme Court, in relation to the approval of the environmental permits necessary for its exploitation.
